HOW TO MAKE PALAK PANEER (Spinach with Cottage Cheese)
Palak paneer is a Punjabi dish which is not only rich in taste but also very nutritious to eat. It is a popular paneer dish made with fresh paneer cubes dipped in smooth, spicy spinach gravy. Gravy is the main attraction of this recipe it remains green as no dry spices are added to it. This is an easy and quick recipe to be cooked. Ingredients for Palak Paneer Recipe
Onion paste :-
• Onions (प्याज़) 1 large
• Ginger (अदरक) 1/2 inch
• Garlic (लहसुन) 4-5
• Green chilies (हरी मिर्च) 4
• Water ½ cup
Spinach paste :-
• Spinach (पालक) 6 cups (1 large Bunch)
• Water up to 5 cups
• Paneer 200 grams
• Oil 3 teaspoons
• Dried fenugreek leaves (सूखी मेथी पत्ते) 1 teaspoon
• Garam masala 1 teaspoon
• Salt to taste
• Heavy whipping cream (Malai) 2 tablespoons
Method of making Palak paneer
Saut paneer cubes for 2 minutes in a hot pan with ghee or cooking oil and keep aside.
Wash spinach with water to remove impurities. Blanch it by boiling in salted water for 2 minutes. Drain the water with strainer and put the spinach into cold water for few seconds and then again drain. Then put the spinach into grinder to make puree.
Take a pan and heat it with cooking oil and butter, put onion paste into it and fry till the paste turns golden.
Add spinach puree to the pan and cook it for 2 minutes .Than add garam masala and salt cook for couple of minute.Pour ½ cup of water and mix it well.Keep it over low heat and cook till it boils.
Add sauted paneer cubes ,kasuri methi and cook it for 5-6 min to get the thick gravy .
Serve with style…!
Take a bowl and pour the prepared curry into it.Garnish it with milk cream and lemon pieces.
